Last Thursday with the suggestion of our friends we decided to spend the weekend in Pooladkaf Resort in Sepidan Province since this might be the last snow we could experience this year (we had few rain this year which is actually not good for the summer season and the only snow happened few days ago in that province,  which usually is covered by snow the entire winter).

Since I’ve got our car back from the garage the day before (Wednesday) we decided to borrow my father in-law’s car, a Lexus RX380 SUV. I gave our car for an overhaul so the entire system was checked and fixed and since I didn’t want to take the risk of taking it out of the town before driving sufficiently to make sure everything is ok, we decided to borrow a car.   

This was to make sure we wont be stuck in the road and we would go on this trip safely specially on the snowy road with many switchbacks and hairpin curves.

Going to resort everything was fine and honestly the car was so good and the trip was so smooth. Also to consider that this year the amount of snow and also tourists were few.

We enjoyed our stay there and ate a lot and played much and to be honest I love spending holidays and weekends with my close friends. Specially that this time all 6 of us spent in one single room overnight.

The next day after collecting our stuffs and taking some pictures and playing with snow we decided to go back before lunch to avoid the expected traffic. Among the way we also decided to eat ice-cream. After our stop for ice-cream and only 15km from Shiraz, the car suddenly showed increased in temperature. So I pulled over in which the car suddenly turned off and didn’t turn on after. Our friends who were ahead of turn back and stayed with us and helped me to reduce the car temperature and after we cooled it I tried to start the car but it didn’t turn on.

I was worried that the problem would be from the engine, the main reason I brought our own car to mechanic now happened to my father in-law’s car. Specially after seeing the A/T Oil Temp turned on.

We had to call for the car lift to come and pick us up. Meanwhile I was thinking that how I prevented such a damage to our car but it happened to this borrowed car. Also, how our decision to prevent this incident actually put us in the exact situation I wanted to avoid. Most of all how much time was wasted waiting for the lift to come and pick us up  from a road out of town where there is no internet connection (I had to call my sister asking her to search for the meaning of A/T Oil Temp light warning).

But all the time our friends stood by us and though I insisted to at least bring wify home, they remained still and didn’t leave us in the middle of nowhere.

The day ended up by us leaving the car in front door of my in-laws and going to our friend for movie despite our tiredness and talking about the day and laughing on the jokes I made about how life challenges feel lately.

This incident made me realize how presence of real friends make life challenges tolerable and even joyful at times (we played a game while waiting for the car-lift). Also not to forget that life is filled with different unexpected incidents even if we think we are prepared for them.
