Two weeks ago, after almost 10 years of request I finally decided to give in and accept to perform an esthetic crown-lengthening surgery for my sister from teeth. She always has and had beautiful smile and among us she had the best set of teeth. Therefore, I was hesitant to do it, also when I consulted my professor, Dr. Aurelo Ramos, 10 years ago, he said the result may cause irreversible problems like exposure of the roots.

 But finally, after I saw how the surgery is going to affect her self-confidence and happiness I gave in and performed it. Honestly the result was even better than what I expected and fortunately she was the happiest.

Today after the suture removal, she brought me a gift as sign of appreciation. Specially that despite her insistence to pay even the minimum fee (at lest for the materials) I refused strongly (and I always perform treatments for families for free). She asked me to open it when I am alone. After my work I went to my room to rest, before I go to Self-awareness Seminar at 5:30PM, and saw the gift lying on my table. At first, I opened the top of the gift wrap and I saw socks, which made me smiled and happy as well because it was the thought that counts. But I became surprised when between the two pair of sport socks was a quarter gold coin.

Suddenly right in front of my eyes all the memories of her kindness (Fatimah my sister is known for her kind heart) passed by, brought me teary eyes and a smile. Though I am going to return the gift (but I’ll keep the socks) yet her thoughtfulness touched my heart. In the world where the strangers are asking for free treatments, here comes my beloved sister who knows in such a bad economy all I need is support.

I am so grateful for having my two sister who are definitely gifts from above and I know when I cannot hug or smell my mom, they are there to calm me down with their presence.
