Yesterday after gym I realized I still have free time and I wanted to tackle on the new book I’ve bought entitled “Emotional Intelligence Habits” by Dr. Travis Bradberry. Since two decades ago when I got familiar with the concept of EQ and other types of Human Intelligences I became so fascinated with their powers of personal success. Specially the influence of EQ on overall human life. Back then there were no sufficient scientific information. But lately specially with the new advancement of technology and resources more information are available.
The fun part was the EQ Test available with the book. There is a onetime passcode for those who buy the book to take the test and see the baseline of their EQ level. Since then, there are some resources and guidelines that can help one to learn more about his/her EQ Level and how to even increase it by creating good habits and actions.
My score was 89 and it was considered pretty good. The results will tell the strength and weakness and which area needed more attention to be able to enhance our EQ Level. There are also some video clips selected from movies that help understand different portion of EQ.
One thing that has been motivated me was how I was able to learn about these stuffs since years ago and I am so happy despite the challenges I had both in family and in the country, I was able to get my hands on great resources the time I was living in the Philippines and attending some related videos.
EQ which stands for Emotional Quotient, is actually person’s ability to understand and interpret much of self and others emotions perceived and how we respond to those.
Now one may ask me if it is considered a major topic to consider to learn or not in comparison to other stuffs like, IQ, Management, Leadership and Psychology. My answer is; now that we have much detailed information backed with much researches and scientific evidences, it is a must for one to know his/her level of EQ and learn to enhance it.
The more one is trained to use his/her EQ the more one can achieve not only goals in life but also create healthy relationship with ones self and others.
I planned to create a seminar and workshop designed based on these information on EQ, that I know can help others the same way it did help me along the way.
